Brilliant and rare orotone, or goldtone, photograph by famed Seattle, Washington photographer EDWARD S. CURTIS (1868 - 1952, American/Washington + Californian), titled "The Scout - Apache." Seattle, Washington Studio, ca. 1917 - early 1920s. Signed in the lower right, "Curtis". Housed in the original gilt gesso Edward Curtis pie crust, or batwing, style Arts & Crafts frame, with original "legend" and studio label on verso.

Orotone photographic glass plate in very good antique condition, with some fingerprints from artist enacpsulated within gold-colored backing (original to the piece, and not a condition issue). Orotone plate measures 8" x 10," and overall the piece measures approximately 11-1/2" x 13-1/2" including the frame.
